Sauti za Busara Swahili Music Festival
Sauti za Busara Festival
Sauti za Busara (Sounds of Wisdom) Swahili Music Festival takes place on the island of Zanzibar each year. The main performances take place in the Old Fort in Stone Town over 4 days before moving to other venues around the island.
Musicians that have performed include the traditional Amani Drummers of Burundi, the reinterpretation of traditional dances by Black Roots, The Nazareth Choir from Dar Es Salaam, traditional music by Annet Nandujja & The Planets from Uganda, the Senegalese rap artist Didier, Malian musician Bassekou Kouyate & Ngoni ba, amongst many others whose music is a fusion of traditional and current sounds.
We would suggest a couple of nights in Stone Town to enjoy the music combined with a 5 night stay in a small lodge on one of Zanzibar's beautiful beaches.
A fantastic way to spend a week or so in February.
We look forward to speaking to you.
