October - Libya
The annual Ghadames festival is a colourful event with performances of traditional song & dance. Ghadames is one of the great trading towns on the centuries old Saharan caravan route.
October - Northern India
High above the surrounding desert landscape, Mehrangarh Fort, normally closed to visitors after nightfall, opens its doors for four nights in October for the Rajasthan International Folk Festival.
November - Ethiopia
A joyous annual pilgrimage by tens of thousands of people, "Hidar Zion" is celebrates presence of the Ark of the Covenant in Axum, "...the sacred city of the Ethiopians.", and the belief that the Ark itself is a symbol of The Virgin Mary's womb.
