Cairo's immediate attractions are its exceptional Egyptian museum, and the souk. Within easy reach south of this bustling city are ancient Memphis, Abu Sir, and Saqqara. Adjacent are the pyramids of Giza and nearby sits the inscrutable Sphinx.
Further south by Luxor are the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens and the great temples of Karnak and Luxor.
