The Imperial Cities, Marrakesh, Fes (host to the annual Fes Sacred Music Festival in June), Rabat and Meknes have a wealth of gardens, palaces and a maze of little streets and souks to explore. The coast on the Atlantic is largely unspoilt and there is excellent trekking in the Atlas Mountains. Beyond this mountain range the Sahara beckons with an invitation to explore with a guide and 4x4 vehicle.
