A great way to see Namibia is from the air, in a charter plane over to the ancient Namib Desert where the red dunes of Sossusvlei are the largest in the world, then on, flying low level at times, to the remote and desolate Skeleton Coast. After camping for a night fly inland to see the Whistling Dunes and Organ Pipes, and other extraordinary geological formations, touching down every now and then to explore or to camp. Different again are the petrified forests in Damaraland where endangered desert elephant and black rhino are to be found. Here also are a multitude of ancient rock engravings depicting scenes thousands of years old.
