Luxury Safaris in Zambia
"The bush walker does not just move through the bush - for a time, he becomes part of it" - Financial Times
Zambia is renowned above all for its walking safaris. Often described as the 'real' Africa much of this enormous land-locked country is wilderness.
Victoria Falls is its most obvious attraction but its National Parks, North and South Luangwa, the Kafue and Lower Zambezi are almost as well-known for the quality of their guiding and their small, highly personalised camps. Walking safaris between bush camps in different areas of the Luangwa are a speciality.
Victoria Falls itself features all sorts of adrenaline activities - from white-water rafting, the 'Flight of Angels' in a small plane over the Falls, bungee jumping and boat trips - all in easy reach of romantically positioned lodges along the Zambezi.
The Zambezi is Zambia's greatest asset attracting animals and visitors and on which there are a variety of canoeing possibilities for a day or several.
If colonial history interests you the 'Africa House', Shiwa Ng'andu lies on the way from the North Luangwa to the Bengweulu Swamps.
"The whole thing was absolutely fantastic, the best trip either of us have ever done (and we've done quite a few) by a long way, and we'd imagine it will take something out of this world to beat it. So we'll just have to wait until trips to the moon become available!" - Mr & Mrs Nick Jude
